Great study tool!! They are very helpful I. Studying for the nccer tests but pricey. Need to lower the price.
I'm taking this course as part of an Electrician training program provided and certified by the state of Alaska. This book is the reading material for a remotely taken course that is two of 8 I believe. I've taught myself over the years through correspondence curriculum's and as such I'm familiar with how challenging they can be, and what a good curriculum should be.However, this course's mechanical layout is amazingly poor Reference diagrams requiring you to flip pages back and forth to follow along being very difficult when following such technical material. Chapters are over extended and compressed, presenting a barrage of information with few to no examples on any of it. The entire book has virtually no questions to help retain the information being read or to inform the self educator what they have or have not retained. Even the vocabulary checks at the end of chapters is vague and lacking key terms. I've read entire chapters, passed the qualifying tests with 80-90% and then watched online videos about the same topics only to find I was mistaken on my interpretation of the technical words piled onto a page! Perhaps this material is designed to be used in a classroom as a supplementary material in which case it might have value. I HIGHLY recommend NOT using this material exclusively for the purposes of learning it's expressed material as it is not adequate for it's accreted purpose.
