I was lucky enough to join Kate and Hugh during one week of their incredible adventure, and so was thrilled to learn that Kate had written about it. That week is one that ever since I've kept coming back to in my mind. I had always thought of "boating" as something elderly retirees would do around the harbor. So to discover an entire community, of young and old (and even young families) that had thrown off their shackles of everyday life, moved into a boat and taken off to truly see the world as it is was a slice of life that I'd never imagined before.Kate's story is at once personal yet compellingly readable, and captures perfectly the thrill and sense of discovery that comes from taking a brave leap into the unknown. It also dives into a side of south east asia that few have seen, much less written about, In the same way that "Into the Wild" will make you seriously consider hitchhiking, "Under the Arms of the Sky" may just have you trekking to the nearest Marina with all your savings to buy a boat. Recommended.

This was a great read. The descriptions of where they went was very informative and very interesting. I liked that they shared when they got scared and how they handle those situations as a couple I would recommend this book to any sailing couple

The characters are authentic; simply sketched but completely engaging.
