I chose this book to learn the weave, and was pleasantly surprised.. I tried another book long ago and was confused by the directions. I work in wire so I had some understanding of wire and how it handles, but the instructions required a lot of trying to decipher the writers intention of the directions. Rachel has great pictures and is very clear about what is to be done. I was shocked at the difference it made! I started a bracelet and finished it the same afternoon, without problem. I highly recommend this book to anyone, even if you have never worked with wire before! You will have no trouble with this wonderful and beautiful weave. Kudos to Rachel for keeping it simple, with explanations for how and why when showing variations.
Good for people who know viking knitting technique and want to know how to apply it. Simple designs give room for plenty of variations with shapes, colors, beads and stones.
I gave this as a gift to my son. He said it starts out with a weave and that's good but it continues that weave throughout. Something a person with a little imagination could figure out on their own. A little disappointed because we were hoping for other types of weaving.
If you would like to learn how to make a Viking Knit - this book provides excellent instructions and pictures.
This is the only book you will need for Viking Wire Weaving. It explains everything... step by step... the colored photographs are really outstanding.
Great instructional book. Instructions are easy to follow.
Has a few introductory pages going through the basic viking wire weaving technique - nothing you couldn't find online for free - then the rest is using chains for wire-wrapped stones
Very repetitive designs, and they look loose and sloppy. Only round wire is used. Nice for beginners, though. Rather basic, but probably good for starters.
