I wasn't as happy with this story. I truly enjoyed her bachelor series. This story needed more depth and was way to short. It needs to be rewritten. Usually her stories are really entertaining and good though.
The wife likes these Amish novels. She enjoyed this one.

Heartbreaking story about Mary who is in an abusive marriage with Damiam and when she finds she is expecting he leaves her because he does not want a child but before he gets out of town he is killed in a accident. Mary can not raise the baby so she offers the baby to her friend who can not carry to baby to full term. Beth and her husband take the baby and Mary lives with them but when the baby is just a few months old Beth and her husband are killed in a accident and the baby goes to Samuel who is Beth's brother. Mary offers to be his live-in nanny so she can be close to her baby since no one knows she is the mother. Samuel is courting another woman and Mary knows she will have to leave if he marry this woman. When Samuel's girlfriend becomes attracted to someone who is visiting their community Mary is relieved but never expected that Samuel would be attracted to her. Another wonderful ending to a wonderfully sweet book. Love this author and read all I can of her books.Received from the author and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
Mary was expecting while her best friend Beth, was having miscarriages. A young life, of having made so many wrong choices, and now Damian, was gone. Unwanted and unloved, is all she known, wanted more for her baby. Would William and Beth take and raise as their own, a secret adoption. Fate intervenes, a question now to continue the ruse, or tell the truth. A great aunt and uncle barely surviving and her little salary wouldn’t raise a child. Beth’s brother Samuel had the baby now, yet he needed a live in sitter, she jumps at the chance. Among arriving, to find she is to use the back entrance, and others were living there also. Once again, she made a quick decision without thinking it through, was it a wrong one. Powerful story, as Samantha is great in giving us as reader, the question, how would we have made a choice. An unusual setting within the Amish, one will remember having read this story. Always looking for more by Samantha.

This story has a lot of up's and downs an it is a book needed to be read from page one to the last page or you are really going to end up missing something I know I did and was so happy when I backtracked. This book will tell you how unhappy you can be if you marry in a hurry and don't really get to know that person and you might not be as lucky or was she ended up being unhappy. Samantha Price has given us a lovely story of how God can take a tragedy and turn it into a miracle. Mary had never had it easy, orphaned as a child, turned into a foster child and deserted then widowed by her husband with no money, no home and no way to feed and care for her unborn child. Her precious friend, Beth and her husband ,William agree to raise the child as their own and in secret. Tradegy strikes. Beth and William are killed and now Little Loise is left with Beth’s brother, Samuel. It just so happens that he needs Mary to help him raise Loise so how will all this turn out? Such a wonderful story that should be shared.
